Are you alone or on a low-key mode on this Valentine’s Day? Really, it’s not so bad. There are many reasons one could be alone on Valentine’s day.
You could be celebrating alone because your significant other pulled out. Perhaps he or she isn’t in town or you just haven’t found that person yet.
Whatsoever the reason may be! We’re here to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way.
It’s easy to let the media and advertisements make one feel like something is missing.
Especially if you are not in a relationship on this particular day. However some people sees Valentine’s day as an unnecessary commercial celebration.
Guess what? It can be a great opportunity to indulge in fun activities, whether it’s dinner low-key or some self-care.
Just because you don’t have a significant other next to you doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy yourself!.
Here’s how to celebrate the day that honours love!;
1. Go to a Movie
Going to the movies alone is arguably better than going with someone else.
Get a ticket of a film you’ve been dying to see, splurge some popcorn, and have a date with yourself.
2.. Get Out of Town
Plan a Valentine’s Day weekend getaway with a friend or family members that has been dying to see you!.
Drive or take the train (I’ll prefer the train though) to somewhere you’ve always wanted to visit.
Like an old favorite destination where you can bask in nostalgia.
3. Reach Out to Someone.
Take the opportunity to reach out to someone whom you haven’t spoken to in a while. That person might be a family member, a friend, or even a potential romantic interest.
You never know who might also be feeling lonely on Valentine’s Day. They may welcome the chance to catch up and connect.
4. Get Yourself Some Flowers.
Brighten up your space by buying yourself a bouquet of flowers. The cheery blossoms will make you smile for quite a while. You could send some across to your neighbors or friends as well.
You’re sure to get loads of love and appreciation in return.
“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt”.
— Charles M. Schulz
5. Throw a Party for Single Friends.
In your circle of friends you probably aren’t the only one that is going to be alone(trust me). Why not throw a Valentine’s Day party?.
Everybody loves a party, and they’ll appreciate an event that won’t leave them sitting at home all night.
Infact, who knows? Probably you might get to discover who’s been drooling over you when the whole thing comes on.
6. Be Kind to Yourself.
If you’d prefer not to ignore Valentine’s Day, you can decide to make it a day to treat yourself well. Try some of the following self-care strategies:
Engage in hobbies that you enjoy.
Write in a gratitude journal.
Create a list of goals or intentions that you’d like to set for the day.
Sleep in late.
Eat your favorite foods.
7. Bake a Chocolate Layer Cake.
8. Splurge on a Nice Piece of Jewelry.
Have you had your eye on some new accessories, but haven’t been able to justify purchasing them? Here’s your opportunity. You’re worth it!
9. Love Yourself.
Do whatever makes you happy! Cut yourself some slack. Remind yourself that you are lovable and worthy of love. If it’s possible, Make it a day full of self-care activities that make you feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
Take a long bath, do a face mask, or fix your nails. Just do whatever makes you feel happy and loved!.
